Fixing the “Destination folder already exists” Error When Installing SureForms
If you see the error message “Destination folder already exists” while installing the SureForms plugin, don’t worry! This is a common issue and can be fixed easily.

Why This Happens
This error usually means there’s already a folder called “sureforms” in your website’s plugins directory. This can happen if:
- A previous installation didn’t finish properly.
- The plugin was uploaded manually before.
- An old or inactive version of the plugin is still there.
How to Fix the Error
Before you start:
We recommend making a full backup of your website. This helps you restore your site if anything goes wrong.
Step 1: Open Your File Manager or FTP
- Log in to your web hosting control panel (like cPanel) and open the File Manager.
Or - Use an FTP client such as FileZilla to connect to your website.
Step 2: Find the Plugin Folder
- Go to: public_html/wp-content/plugins/
- Look for a folder named sureforms
Step 3: Delete the Existing Folder
- Right-click on the
sureformsfolder and choose “Delete.” - Confirm that you want to delete the folder.
Step 4: Reinstall SureForms
- Go back to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and install SureForms again.
